OR Utilization
Review of OR data over last several months and develop
strategies to improve start times, turnaround times,
and enhance surgical volume and throughput. Bottlenecks
will be identified and turnaround strategies will be
developed. Plexus is known leaders in maximizing utilization
of the hospital’s ORs.
Staffing
Current staffing levels will be assessed and different
staffing models will be created with current or additional
personnel. Hours of operation and case volume will be
carefully reviewed and recommendations made to achieve
cost savings and maximize efficiency. Plexus has over
200 employees and has developed complex and innovative
strategies to maximize OR safety and not lose focus
of lifestyle issues.
Compensation
Current compensation will be reviewed and compared with
National benchmarks to determine areas of vulnerability
to avoid staffing shortages. Techniques to enhance revenue
or need for subsides will be carefully assessed. Plexus
has a long history of hiring the best of the best clinicians
with low turnover of staff and high job satisfaction.
Risk Assessment
Potential areas of vulnerability will be identified
in reference to clinical management and day-to-day operations.
Particular attention is given to communication between
surgeons, nursing and anesthesia. Our organization has
a long history of safety deeply seeded in our roots
established by Ellison Pierce, Founder of the Anesthesia
Patient Foundation.
Operating Room Leadership
Structure of the OR Management team is crucial so the
current structure and effectiveness will be reviewed
with particular attention given to creating an environment
of change responsive to new opportunities. AAM physicians
are leading edge practitioners at all of our facilities
known for getting the job done.
Cost Containment
Opportunities for lost savings in reference to supplies,
drugs, and personnel will be systematically reviewed
with particular focus for potential areas of improvement.
